Class 6S Dive into Success at The Quays!
Last week, Class 6S headed to The Quays for their swimming lessons, and what an achievement it was! The children threw themselves into every activity with enthusiasm, showing great determination and a willingness to keep improving.
Throughout the sessions, pupils worked on a range of skills—from strengthening their strokes to practising water safety. For some, the biggest success was overcoming nerves and discovering just how much they could do once they gave it a try. For others, the challenge was pushing themselves further, refining their technique, and building stamina with each length of the pool.
What stood out most was the way progress and achievement went hand in hand. Every pupil left the pool knowing they had grown in confidence, whether through a smoother stroke, a faster swim, or the courage to try something new. The encouragement they gave each other was just as important as the strokes they swam, creating a real sense of teamwork and pride.
Giacomo: It's been fun. We have practised key skills for staying safe in the water.
Beth: It teaches us key life skills. The chance to learn this alongside our friends has been enjoyable.
The staff at The Quays were impressed with the effort shown by 6S, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way they represented the school. Their resilience and positivity shone through, proving that hard work and determination really do lead to success.
Well done, 6S—you’ve certainly made a splash to remember!
