Eco blog:

We have had an amazing start to the new year in ECO! The children have been busy with lots of jobs around the site and we are so proud of what we have achieved already.

KS2 worked incredibly hard to fill one of our polytunnels with soil, which means we have now been able to start planting our winter vegetables. A big well done to them!

We have also been preparing other beds for the coming autumn. The children have been learning how to weed, sieve the soil to remove stones and sticks and harvest the last bits of produce. They have also started learning about green manure and we will be planting this over the next couple of weeks to help enrich the soil.

Our two pumpkins have been harvested and are now proudly on display in school for everyone to enjoy.

Alongside our gardening work, we also took some mindful time outdoors, listening to our surroundings and watching the clouds drift above us. With the wind around us this week, it was quite noisy!

Please feel free to come and have a look at what we have been doing: they have so much enthusiasm and I hope it shines through to you as much as it does in our sessions.
