3B Celebrate National Poetry Day with Michael Rosen!
What a wonderful time 3B had celebrating National Poetry Day! Our classroom was filled with excitement, laughter and creativity as we explored the wonderful world of poetry.
We were incredibly lucky to join the fantastic Michael Rosen for a special Zoom call, where he brought poetry to life through his brilliant storytelling, humour and expressive performances. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience poetry from such a well-loved author and discover how words can capture our imaginations, make us laugh and inspire us.
Inspired by Michael Rosen, we had great fun performing poetry ourselves! We experimented with our voices, facial expressions, actions and intonation to bring poems to life. It was wonderful to see the children growing in confidence as they explored how poetry can be performed and enjoyed together.
To finish our celebrations, we became poets ourselves! Taking inspiration from this year's theme of wonder, we let our creativity run wild as we explored the extraordinary things that can be found in the world around us. The children enjoyed playing with language, choosing interesting vocabulary and expressing their own imaginative ideas through poetry.
We were so proud of the enthusiasm, creativity and confidence shown by everyone in 3B. What a fantastic celebration of the power of words!
We certainly have some budding poets in 3B, and perhaps even a future Michael Rosen!
