Teamwork, Determination and Plenty of Cheering!
Our Year 5 and 6 children recently took part in a Southampton schools netball competition and it was fantastic to see so many of them stepping onto the court and giving a new sport a go.
For many of the team, this was their first experience of competitive netball but they showed brilliant resilience and enthusiasm from the very start. They listened carefully to the rules, adapted quickly and worked hard to put their new skills into practice during each match.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing the players rotate through different positions, giving everyone the chance to try new roles and develop a wider understanding of the game. Whether defending, shooting or passing through the court, the children showed great effort and teamwork.
What made the day even more special was the way they encouraged and supported each other throughout the competition. There was constant cheering from the sidelines, high-fives after great passes and lots of positivity after every game.
At one point, our children even ended up playing a match against each other—but that didn’t stop the encouragement! They continued cheering for great play on both sides and were genuinely proud of one another.
It was a wonderful example of sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying the experience and representing our school so well. Well done to our brilliant netballers!
