Mud, Miles and Massive Pride!
Last week brought one of those moments that reminds you just how brilliant our children are.
A group of our fantastic runners qualified for the Cross Country County Finals after finishing in the top 12 runners across Southampton—no small feat considering how many great runners there are out there! This meant they were selected to represent Southampton at the county finals, which is a huge achievement in itself.
Race day arrived and suddenly our runners found themselves on the start line with around 300 other children from across the county. That’s a lot of trainers, a lot of nervous energy… and probably a lot of muddy socks waiting at the finish line!
Despite the tough competition, our runners showed incredible resilience, determination and grit. They kept going, pushed themselves to the finish and represented Southampton—and our school—brilliantly.
Watching them race was a proud moment. Their effort, perseverance and positive attitudes were fantastic to see and they truly made our school very proud. Well Done Team!
