Year 2 blog:

Children and parents in Year 2 loved taking part in a phonics workshop this week. Together, the classes and their parents read the story 'The Watchmaker' where parents were introduced to the purple phase alternative pronunciations the children have been working hard on in their phonics lessons. The book follows dad as he makes his way to The Watchmaker to get his watch fixed after
breaking it when putting out tulips in his kitchen. Year 2 children have not only been working hard on their new pronunciation but also on using expression for speech – They did a great job of showing their parents how it was done! After, the children made their own tulips – just like Dad's! Parents and children had fun choosing their colours and shapes before making a tulip they could put up in their
own kitchen at home. Year 2 do hope that all parents enjoyed this exciting workshop and are admiring their tulips at home. We can’t wait to see you all at the next one!

Please find attached a link to the book you wish to replicate this at home.
