Class 6P Make a Splash at The Quays!
Last week, Class 6P enjoyed an exciting visit to The Quays for their swimming lessons. The children made fantastic progress during their sessions, building confidence, developing new skills, and pushing themselves to achieve more in the water.
From practising front crawl to working on safe entries, the pupils showed real determination and resilience. Some began the lessons a little nervous, but with encouragement from their teachers and swimming instructors, they were soon gliding across the pool with growing ease. Others who already felt confident in the water challenged themselves to refine their technique, improve stamina, and even attempt more advanced skills.
One of the highlights of the week was seeing progress and achievement go hand in hand. Every splash, kick, and length completed was a step forward, and the pride on the children’s faces said it all. The support they gave each other was also inspiring—celebrating successes, cheering on their classmates, and recognising that everyone’s progress was an achievement in itself.
George: It has been amazing: the perfect school trip. We have learned a key skill and had fun with our friends at the same time. We also loved the minibus journeys.
Isabelle: It’s been a fun experience where we have all learned something new. The swimming instructors are really nice and supportive; we have enjoyed the experience with our friends.
We were incredibly proud of 6P for their positive attitude and the determination they showed throughout their swimming journey. These skills will not only help keep them safe in the water but also remind them of the rewards that come with perseverance and teamwork.
Well done, 6P—you really did make waves!
