Year 5 Science Centre Sleepover:
Year 5 had an unforgettable adventure during their recent "Night at the Museum" sleepover at the Winchester Science Museum. The excitement began as soon as the children arrived, eager to explore the museum after hours. They had the opportunity to investigate the fascinating exhibits and interactive activities, sparking curiosity and wonder at every turn. From hands-on experiments to thought-provoking displays, there was something to capture everyone's imagination. Following a welcome hot chocolate and biscuit, came one of the highlights of the evening - a special session in the planetarium. Lying back beneath a stunning canopy of stars, the children were taken on a captivating journey through the night sky, learning about constellations, planets and the vastness of space. It was a magical experience that inspired awe and excitement about the universe around us. After a night sleeping amongst the museum exhibits, the adventure continued the next morning. Following a delicious breakfast, the children enjoyed more time exploring the museum before returning to the planetarium for a fascinating film exploring the origins of the universe and the incredible story of evolution that has shaped life on Earth today. Throughout the visit, the children demonstrated excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and curiosity. They embraced every opportunity to learn, ask questions and engage with the activities on offer, making the most of this unique educational experience. The sleepover was a fantastic way to bring science to life beyond the classroom, creating lasting memories while inspiring a deeper interest in the world around us. Year 5 returned to school full of excitement, new knowledge and plenty of stories to share from their amazing night at the museum!
