As expert mathematicians, we have had a Maths-tastic start to Year 1! We have been exploring numbers to 10 and developing our understanding of 1 more and 1 less.

We have been using ten frames, counters and other practical strategies to help us see and understand numbers. We have also been following our ‘I do, We do, You do’ approach, giving us lots of opportunities to practise our skills and gradually grow our independence.  We know that mistakes help us learn and that, with practice and perseverance, we can continue to grow our mathematical skills. We are already becoming confident, independent mathematicians!
