Eco Blog May 2025

Hello from the Eco-Warriors! We are delighted to announce the winners of our ‘No Idling’ Poster Competition who have had their designs printed onto a new poster to be displayed outside our school. Well done to Heera and Isla from 6P!

We are continuing to monitor the pollution outside the school and we would love more children to travel actively to school by either walking, scooting or cycling now that we have some warmer weather. Clean Air Day is on the 19th June and the Eco Warriors will be getting together to share more information on this. We encourage as many children as possible to travel actively to school on this day! We are hoping to organise an additional bike shed so that more children can store their bikes and scooters safely. Watch this space for more information!

In our Eco lessons across the school, our children at BPPS have been upgrading the bug hotel in our sensory garden and our raspberry canes are starting to grow shoots. Thank you to Miss Whettingsteel for all the amazing Eco work she is doing in and around the school.

Finally, we are very excited to be hosting a ‘Lungs’ exhibit in June - this will enable children to learn more about the effects of pollution on people and the function of our lungs.
