Year 4 blog:

It has been a busy and exciting half-term in Year 4, packed full of fantastic learning.

In History, the children have been learning about Vikings and their longboats. They designed their own longboats and explored how these were used during Viking raids, helping them to understand what life might have been like for a Viking setting sail.

During science lessons, the children learned about sound. They carried out experiments using drums and paperclips to see how sound causes vibrations.

In DT, Year 4 has been busy designing and creating their own board games. The children carefully considered rules, design and how to make their games fun to play and we are very much looking forward to playing them towards the end of term.

In writing, the children have been working with the book The Last Zookeeper, which has really captured their imaginations. They have been building tension and creating detailed descriptions in their writing. In reading, we have been enjoying the story Charlotte’s Web and exploring the characters and themes together.

We are also looking forward to the upcoming 4T class assembly and the children are preparing with great enthusiasm.

We cannot wait to see what the rest of this term brings!
