VE Day Artwork:
As part of our VE Day celebrations this year, the children have created a beautiful and meaningful piece of artwork to honour those who made sacrifices during World War II. Their creation will be proudly displayed at Cobbett Road Library.
The artwork features a large heart filled with bright red poppies. Our children hope that their mural captures their gratitude and respect for the bravery shown by so many during the war.
We hope that their heart-shaped tribute highlights the appreciation from the younger generation to those who gave so much for our freedom. The children were inspired to reflect on the importance of VE Day and the incredible courage of the veterans who lived through such challenging times.
We hope that the Southampton Veterans Trust, who are based at Cobbett Road library, will enjoy the display, as well as visitors to the library. We encourage all of our children to visit the library to see the artwork in place too - and hope that it will be on show when Year 3 visit later this month!
