Year 3 blog:

Year 3 have thoroughly enjoyed their guided reading sessions with Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World, making strong connections with the inspiring text.

The children have been developing their retrieval and inference skills, confidently finding key information and thoughtfully exploring the characteristics of the remarkable women they studied. From courage and determination to creativity and resilience, Year 3 proved themselves to be excellent character detectives—magnifying glasses very much at the ready!

To finish the unit in truly memorable style, we were delighted to watch a recorded live session created especially for us by author Kate Pankhurst. She shared how she creates ideas for her books and led an engaging drawing session, as the illustrator, of Amelia Earhart, bringing history and creativity together beautifully.

A fantastic end to an inspiring unit that left the children motivated, thoughtful and full of big ideas!
