School of Sanctuary blog:

Last week was Refugee Week 2025. We kicked off our week with an assembly all about Sanctuary.  We discussed what a Refugee is and, to help us understand how fast some people need to leave their homes, we thought about what three things we would take with us if we had to leave really quickly. We talked about how refugees feel and why.

We read the story 'Long way here' - a story of a child refugee. We presented our tote bags that Year 6 and R decorated with 'Welcome' in different languages to give to refugees coming to Southampton. We presented our banner that says 'Sanctuary Heroes Unite — Together We Welcome and Belong!' We are proud to be a School of Sanctuary.
