Go gadget! This week during writing the children have been specially chosen for a secret mission by MI5. But shhhh this is top secret! Each child will be designing a brand new gadget along with explaining their functions and features. In lessons this week we have been exploring and understanding the features of explanation texts and the use of technical vocabulary.  

Can you keep our mission hidden from our enemies?

In Geography, we have been exploring the effects of deforestation on the Amazon Rainforest.  Did you know that at the current rates of deforestation, 27% of the Amazon Rainforest will be without trees by 2030? Our unit will culminate in a class debate, focusing on using our knowledge to determine how we feel the land should be used within the rainforest.  This will lead to us drawing conclusions about the importance of the Amazon Rainforest to our lives and the planet.
