Year 1 blog:
Year 1 had a fantastic Pirate Dress-Up Day, with lots of exciting learning and adventure along the way!
In Maths, our young pirates met Captain Purplebeard and the Fiddler and explored their treasure. Using their careful counting skills, the children compared different groups of objects to work out who had more and who had less treasure.
Then, all of a sudden, a mysterious letter appeared in the classroom! The Reception children needed our help as they were struggling to listen carefully to instructions. Luckily, our Year 1 pirates were ready for the challenge! Using their excellent listening skills, they set off on a treasure hunt, following instructions carefully to find different features on their maps.
They even had to creep quietly around a sleeping crocodile before finding the X that marked the spot! After lots of teamwork, careful listening and determination, the pirates dug for the treasure and found it!
Well done, Year 1! What a brilliant day of learning, teamwork and pirate fun!
