We have been incredibly fortunate to welcome Lydia Brentford, professional manager of Calgary Wild in Canada, to our school for a truly inspiring visit.

She generously gave her time to lead a whole-school assembly linked to the Global Goals, focusing on inequality and sharing her powerful journey as a woman in professional football, which deeply resonated with the children. Lydia then shared her expert skills with our girls’ football team ahead of their county finals, offering high-level coaching, encouragement and belief. The children absolutely loved the experience and looked up to Lydia as a role model.  Her willingness to share her knowledge and passion has had a lasting impact, inspiring confidence, ambition and determination both in sport and beyond.
