What an incredible achievement for our children!

On Saturday 12th September, members of our BPPNS Singing Club took to the stage at St Joseph’s Church in Southampton as part of the fantastic Music in the City 2026 festival.

This is an enormous achievement for our children. Music in the City is one of Southampton’s biggest celebrations of live music, with 420 acts, 1,805 musicians and 59 venues taking part across the city this year. To see Bitterne Park Primary and Nursery School listed alongside musicians, bands, singers and performers from across Southampton was an incredibly proud moment for our whole school community.

At 12pm, our children performed inside the beautiful St Joseph’s Church to a packed audience – and not simply an audience of BPPNS families! Members of the public had come to enjoy the festival and filled the church to watch our children perform.

And perform they did!

The children sang a fantastic selection of songs, including Best Day of my life, Somewhere Only We Know, This Is Me, Make Your Own Kind of Music, Mountain, Fight Song, The Climb, Shallow, Seasons of Love and Sing.

They sang beautifully, performed with confidence and represented BPPNS absolutely brilliantly. Standing up in front of a packed public audience takes courage and every single child rose to the occasion. We could not have been prouder of them.

Experiences like this are exactly what our Singing Club is all about: giving children opportunities to perform, grow in confidence, experience the joy of making music together and create memories that they will hopefully carry with them for many years to come.

A huge thank you must also go to all of our families who supported the children, helped them to be part of the day and, as always, cheered them on so enthusiastically.

Most importantly, though, congratulations to our wonderful singers. You made BPPNS incredibly proud!
