This half term, Year 6 have stepped into the shoes of expert explorers, embarking on an imaginative journey into mysterious and unknown lands. Through their journal writing, the children have worked hard to select ambitious and precise vocabulary, using vivid description and figurative language to bring their discoveries to life and create a clear picture in the reader’s mind.

To make their explorer journals even more authentic, the children have also created detailed diagrams and illustrations of the unusual creatures they might encounter along the way, adding labels and observations to support their descriptions. The finished journals are packed with imagination, creativity and a real sense of adventure!
