Cobbett Road Library Trips

Our pupils in KS1 have been enjoying trips to Cobbett Road Library this half term, walking from school together to enjoy some reading for pleasure!

We have been very lucky to have our visits facilitated by Catherine, the Children's Librarian Lead for the Bitterne & Woolston area.

Catherine has shown the children how to use their library cards to take books out from the children's selection and explained how to navigate the library. She shared how to use the Dewey Decimal System to select non fiction, and explained how books are sorted alphabetically by author in the fiction section. Our children are creating book reviews and decorations to showcase in the library - do go along and see what we've been up to!

Cobbett Road Library has recently been re-opened and run by volunteers. Their opening hours are below. Our Reading Ambassadors recently wrote to the Department of Culture to ask about extending opening hours - the more of our pupils that visit Cobbett Road, the more this will help our cause!

Thursday: Closed
Friday: 1pm to 4.30pm
