Year 1 blog:

Autumn Adventures in Year 1!

1W  have been thoroughly enjoying their science lessons this half term, exploring the wonderful world of seasons! The children have been learning about the changes we see throughout the year, with a particular focus on autumn. They have discovered how the colder weather brings changes to the world around us, observing how trees begin to lose their leaves and how the vibrant greens of summer transform into beautiful shades of red, orange, yellow and brown.

Inspired by their learning, the children put their creativity to the test by designing and making their very own autumn trees! They carefully thought about the colours, shapes and features they had explored in science, using their artistic skills to bring their seasonal creations to life. The finished pieces are absolutely fantastic and showcase both their creativity and their growing understanding of the natural world. Take a look at their wonderful autumn artwork – we are incredibly proud of their efforts!
