Year 5 Activity Day: Calshot Activity Centre

Date: October 2nd 2023

The day kicked off with a burst of excitement as the children started their activities. Some started on the synthetic ski slopes. For many, this was their first time on skis, and they embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. Cheers and laughter filled the air as they zoomed down the slopes, discovering a new passion for winter sports. Others started with a climbing adventure. With harnesses securely fastened, the students scaled towering climbing walls, conquering their fears one handhold at a time. It was a heart-pounding experience that boosted their confidence and showed them the importance of trust and support in teamwork. Some groups who were first on the archery brought out the inner Robin Hood in them. They learned the art of focus and precision as they aimed for the bullseye. With each arrow that hit the mark, their smiles grew wider, and their archery skills sharpened. Throughout the day, all children got to have a go at each of the activities. The children also engaged in initiative challenges that encouraged them to think critically and work together as a team. From solving puzzles to navigating obstacle courses, they showcased their problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.

The school staff and Calshot Activity Centre staff were amazed by the students' enthusiasm and determination. The day was not only an opportunity for adventure but also a valuable lesson in resilience, communication, and the joy of trying new things.
