Pip and Pap Phonics

Year 1 at Bitterne Park enjoyed a Pip and Pap Phonics 'Parent and Child' workshop today, reading the story 'Toab's Boat' together!

Pupils read sentences in their reading books such as "The boat has a bright green flag, wooden deck and big sails," and "Pip slips off the boat with a splash!" 

Then, pupils and parents created their own boats together, using egg cartons, straws and sails - with aliens 'Toab', 'Dad', 'Pip' and 'Pap' inside!
