6th October 2019 - This week in football

Our boys continued their fine run to the start of the season this week.

Against Bitterne C of E, the boys showed their dominance, resilience and determination. The way they have gelled together as a team this year was clear throughout with their precision in passing and movement off the ball. They were clearly the better side throughout and a goal either side of half time sealed a well deserved 2-0 win.

Next up, the boys played the league favourites, Ludlow, and what a game is was! End to end dramas, shots against the post and goal line clearances from both sides kept the crowd on their feet. This entertaining game finished 0-0: a fair result for both sides.

With a new look side, our girls' team has continued to steadily improve as the weeks trickle by. A solid first half from the girls saw them go into the break 1-0 against Portswood; with a bit more luck it would have been more. A resolute and determined Portswood fought back in the second half and went on to win 3-1.

During training later, they have worked on team shape and posititioning. Their improvements have continued in this: the second half of the season looks exciting for them.

Well done to Max, Max, Max, Frankie, Harvey, Harry, Leo, Logan, Harrison and of course Payton, Katie, Isobel, Isabel, Poppy, Elouise, Betty, Hallie and Amelia.
