Budding Gardeners!

With a spring in their step and smiles on their faces, the children in Year 2 have really enjoyed preparing some beds in the playground for planting by tidying and de-weeding them.

Armed with trowels and gloves, all the weeds and fallen leaves were removed and added to our compost bins in the hopes of creating some natural fertiliser.  This also supports our drive to be an eco-friendly school and our desire to create and maintain a flourishing school environment.

Our aim is to use our prior knowledge of plants from our Science learning to work towards becoming a sustainable school, providing fruit and vegetables for our kitchen to use when cooking our school dinners and to add inspiration to our Food Technology learning.

We are really looking forward to planting and nurturing our seeds and bulbs and watching them grow, before enjoying eating them.
