Year 5 - History - The Victorians

Year 5 has been transported back in time to the 1800s to discover what life was really like for Victorian children. We have been using the skill of inference to pick apart a range of sources in order to understand  how the lives of children differed greatly depending on their social standing.  The children have immersed themselves in the topic and found some very interesting facts. Did you know that in workhouses children were only fed a diet of mainly potatoes and bread? Imagine that! We are looking forward to discovering more about the life of Victorian children in order to answer the big question ‘What was life like for children in Victorian Britain?’
