Year 6

Year 6 has truly SPRUNG into action at the start of this spring term. We are all thrilled to finally be launching our Macbeth topic in writing. Children have been focusing on learning and applying high level language choices and interesting sentence types in order to create vivid descriptions of three mysterious figures upon a stormy heath. We simply cannot wait to read the outcomes that year 6 produce at the end of this unit!

In maths, we have been consolidating and developing our knowledge of fractions by making links to the four operations. Specifically, we have been exploring word problems and pictorial representations of fractions in order to solve abstract calculations.

In the afternoons, we have begun a variety of fascinating and engaging topics which include natural disasters in geography and evolution in science. A key focus this half term is representing and showing our learning in a variety of ways. Once again, we are very excited to delve further into these units and create some fantastic pieces of learning.

Well done Year 6 for a fantastic start to the new term!
